Kathleen Hyde's Obituary

Kathleen "Kathy" Hyde, 79, of Spring Grove, peacefully passed away Monday, July 15, 2024, at home.  She was born April 22, 1945, in Waukegan.

Kathy grew up in Spring Grove/Fox Lake and then Chicago.  She was a 1963 graduate of St. Sebastian High School, Chicago, and who went on to marry the late Charles Stanton, Sr. in 1964.  They had four children together.

Kathy married Geoffrey Hyde February 24, 1978, and became mom to four more sons.  Together Kathy and Geof were very active volunteers with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and taking in stray animals left on their doorstep or in need.  Kathy and Geof also fostered several children.  She was known to many as "mom" and had a kind, generous, and loving heart.

Kathy enjoyed spontaneous camping and road trips, country music, classic horror movies, reading (especially Stephen King and James Patterson), and "starting" crafts.  Above all, she was a huge Elvis Presley fan and an excellent cook who loved to spend time with her family—especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband whom she "inspired", Geoffrey Hyde; children, Sherrie (Jack) Mittelbrun, Charles (Jill) Stanton, Kelly (Benny) Yee, Jennifer Krammen, Ross (Tara) Hyde, Charlie Hyde, and Trace Hyde; grandchildren, Faith, Olivia, and Jack Mittelbrun, Eleanor Stanton, David Hilerio, Amber, Brendan and Logan Yee, Heather Phillips, Emily Stanton, Tiffany Krammen, Dakota Krammen, and MaKenna Ryan; great-grandchildren, Carrisa, Keura, Ember, Natalie, Grace, Aidan, Elliot, and Cody ("CJ"); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her son, Ivan Hyde; grandchild, Casey Yee; mother, Eleanor Kisch; sister, Delores Capanoli; and brother, Cecil ("Eddie") Kisch.

Visitation Thursday, July 18, from 4-8 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N.
