Judith Ann "Judy" McGarry, 73, a longtime resident of the Fox Lake area, died Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville.  She was born February 25, 1947, in San Diego, California.

Judy grew up in Fox Lake Hills, and was a 1965 graduate of Grant Community High School.  A very devout Catholic—who regularly prayed the rosary and attended Mass at Our Lady of the Lakes-St. Bede Church, Ingleside and St. Gilbert Catholic Parish, Grayslake—she had a faith that was constant and life-long.

Survivors include her siblings, Jackie (Ray) Swenson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Larry McGarry of Antioch, California, Diane (Mark) Wolsek of Kingsford, Michigan, and John McGarry of Fox Lake; many nieces and nephews; and special, loving friends, Regina Penny and Denise Dorogi.

Judy was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Sanders; parents, John and Helen (nee Johnston) McGarry; brothers, Louis "Dennis" McGarry and James "Jimbo" McGarry; and nephew and Godson, Richard "Ricky" Schmidt.

A private service was held at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, Fox Lake, with Father John Chrzan officiating.  Burial was in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
