Joshua Lyle
Rosendahl
July 4, 1998 – September 3, 2025
Joshua Lyle Rosendahl, 27, passed away on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025. He was born on July 4th, 1998 in McHenry, Illinois to Robert John Rosendahl and Chong Suk Hong. Josh was a loving, loyal, and generous man whose heart was always with his family. He is the proud father of Katalyna Nevaeh, who was the light of his life. He is survived by his parents, Robert (Aracelly) Rosendahl and Chong Suk (Myung) Hong; his siblings, Michael (Teri), Michelle (Will Sadural), Juliayn and Leslie; his daughter, Katalyna Nevaeh; his niece and nephews, Michael William, Jayden Robert, Maesi Grace, Noah Matthew, and Logan Lyle; and many relatives and friends who loved him deeply.
Josh's mind worked in ways that amazed those around him. His solutions and ideas were endlessly creative, anything that involved working with his hands came naturally—whether it was cooking, building, or fixing. To those he loved, he was fiercely loyal and protective. Josh was fun and lighthearted, as a kid he loved football, hockey and was active in Boy Scouts. He had a gift for bringing laughter into any moment. His laugh and energy were contagious, and his stubborn determination meant he never gave up on the things he cared about.
Josh was thoughtful in the way he cared for others and was constantly focused on how he could help. He showed his love in countless ways, if he knew someone needed something he would show up with exactly what was needed, and more. He loved spending time with his family and taking the kids fishing. These simple and thoughtful acts reflected the depth of his heart.
Josh will be remembered for his ingenuity, humor, unwavering loyalty, and the love he carried for those closest to him. His memory will live on in all who knew him, especially his daughter, niece and nephews who adored their uncle Josh.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
