Joseph T. Gasiorowski, 77, of McHenry, a beloved husband, father and loving and affectionate grandpa, passed away suddenly on September 23, 2015, at Centegra Hospital, McHenry.

He was born October 18, 1937, in Chicago, to the late Joseph F. and Dorothy (nee Lindstrom) Gasiorowski.  Joseph married the late Patricia Owen on May 10, 1958, in Chicago.

Joseph worked for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) from 1966-1998, and was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union.  He was also a long-time member of the Moose Lodge in Portage Park and McHenry, and a 42-year parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg.  Joseph enjoyed being Santa Claus for several years for the Moose Lodge and his community.  He was a former Assistant Scout Master for Troop 452. Joseph and Patricia were very active in fundraising for restoring St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in the1970s.

Survivors include his children, Joseph T. Gasiorowski Jr. of New Orleans, LA, Eva Tripp of McHenry, Charles Gasiorowski of Grayslake, and Thomas Gasiorowski of Daytona Beach, FL; and grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy Lee, Alan Joseph, Jeremy Joseph, and Patrick Gasiorowski.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia; daughter, Jane Gasiorowski; daughter-in-law, Linda Gasiorowski; and sisters, Mary Jeanne and Joanne.

The visitation will be Monday, September 28, from 4-8 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2302 W. Church St., Johnsburg.  Please meet directly at the church.  Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
