Joseph Diedrich, 81, passed away peacefully November 23, 2012 at Paradise Park Assisted Living, in Fox Lake, Ill.
Joseph was born August 18, 1931, in Volo, Ill. to Jacob and Barbara (nee Brown) Diedrich. He was raised in Volo, Ill. on the family farm and joined the United States Army and served his country for two years. He later worked for Long Lake Lumber Company and International Harvester.
Joseph married Joan Summers on September 4, 1954 and they were happily married for 50 years. Together they raised three children in love and laughter. Joe enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time with family and friends. He was an active member of St Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside, Ill.
He is survived by his dear children, Charlene (Craig) Severs, Peter Diedrich, Marie (Steven) Paull; five grandchildren and four great- grandchildren; his siblings, Rosina Heil Marathon, Wis., Stanley (Dorothy) Diedrich McHenry, Ill., Barbara (Jim) Miller McHenry, Ill.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Joan, in 2004; his parents and 4 siblings.

Family members would like to extend sincere gratitude to all who cared for Joe at Paradise Park. He truly enjoyed the wonderful attention and concern that was shown by all.

Visitation will held Thursday, Nov. 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday, Nov. 30, at 8:30 a.m., with prayers at 9:10 a.m. at K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake, before departing to St. Bede Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside, for a 10 a.m. Mass, with burial following at St. Peter's Cemetery in Volo.
