Johnny Robert Griskenas, 56, of Fox Lake, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015.

He was born November 13, 1958 to Anna (nee Stabulonis) and John Griskenas, Jr.

John grew up in Fox Lake, graduating from Grant Community High School in 1976.  He went on to serve our country in the US Army.  He married Joy Schwabauer on April 21, 1980, and became the stepdad of three children.

John's favorite hobby throughout his life was fishing, but he also enjoyed cooking—especially on the grill.

Survivors include his mother, Anna Sexton; sisters, Martha (Wally) Schapals and Cynthia Hagstrom; nieces, Kimberly (Joe) Galarza and Jennifer (Andrew) Jurena and their families; nephew, Christopher Hagstrom; his ex-wife, Joy; "his kids," Jonnie Lynn Ridout, Ann (Brian) Jump, and Duane (Jennifer) Schwabauer; and six grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his father, John Griskenas, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Bill Hagstrom.

The visitation will be Saturday, September 19, 2015, from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 2 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.  Inurnment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to help defray funeral expenses, appreciated.
