John "Jack" R. Turnwall
John "Jack" R. Turnwall, a 40 year resident of Schaumburg, recently of Lake Villa, passed away peacefully and joined his beloved wife Lorrie on April 15, 2014. He was born on August 29, 1935 in Chicago to Roy and Ruth (nee Bjorklund) Turnwall.
Jack was a graduate of Lane Tech High School and later became the owner of Photo Tech, Inc. in Evanston. He was united in marriage on November 3, 1956 in Melrose Park to Loretta (nee Simon) and celebrated 55 years of marriage until her death in 2011. On April 8, 1958 he was initiated in the Beach Cities Masonic Lodge #753 in Manhattan Beach, CA and on February 24, 1959 he was proudly raised to Master Mason. In October 2007 he was baptized in Christ. He loved dancing and playing cards with his wife and spending time with his daughters and their families. He enjoyed going on road trips, especially traveling on Old Route 66. Jack was a fun grandpa who adored his grandchildren and was grateful for his great-granddaughter. Jack especially loved converting his basement into a game room for sleepovers with the grandchildren, fishing with them and attending their activities. Jack also loved to do woodworking, painting and tinkering.
Jack will be deeply missed by his loving children Jackie (Nick) Pauly of Palatine; Tammy (Leo Jr.) LaBrie of Lake Villa and Jennie (Joe) Rink of Simi Valley, CA; his grandchildren Nicole and Danny Pauly; Christina Rose LaBrie and Leo III (Jenni) LaBrie and PFC John Rink USMC, Jodie and Jessica Rink; his great-granddaughter, Natalie Grace LaBrie; his siblings, Patricia Tillstrom-Hocking, Douglas (Sharon) and Roy (Louise) Turnwall; his cousin, Gail (Larry) King and by his loving Chicago and California families, including many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife and by his parents.
Services and interment will be private.
