John Joseph Lumber, 51, of Antioch, Ill., beloved son of John W. Lumber of Ingleside, Ill., and Eva Maria (Erich) Schlott of Naples, Fla., and Germany, passed away Wednesday June 7, 2017, after a battle with cancer.  A graduate of Grant High School, he also attended the College of Lake County.  In his work life, he held positions as a warehouse manager at Iso medix, in construction, and as a handyman.  Most recently, he was employed at Stirrus Iso-Medix.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by aunts, Barbara Lumber, Charlene Van Kirk, and Mary Olander; uncle, Dr. Herald Schneider of Germany; as well as cousins, James II, Robert, Julianna, Alicia, Rick, Terri, and Scott.  The visitation will be Tuesday, June 13, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:30 a.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.  The committal will be private in Grant Cemetery, Ingleside. In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
