John F. Kolakowski II of Ingleside since 1979 Visitations for John F. Kolakowski II, 82, formerly of Chicago, will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road, Fox Lake, (The Chapel On The Lake), where funeral services will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening. A private interment will follow. Born May 31, 1927, in Chicago, to John F. and Anna Kolakowski I, he died Friday Sept. 4, 2009, at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Mr. Kolakowski was a veteran, having served in the Army in Korea, and lifetime member and past commander of the VFW in Chicago. He was a longtime member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local 194 of Chicago, and St. Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside. John always had time for visiting and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his son, Brian (Ann Marie) Kolakowski; grandchildren, Mark Kolakowski, Sharon (Michael) D' Andrea, John (Cathy) Kolakowski, Natalie (Bill) Halloran and Jason (Christine) Kolakowski; great-grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, Jordan, John, Alexis, Peyton, Brooklyn and Dylan; and his brother, Leonard Keller. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline (nee Mendel) in 2004; his son, John F. Kolakowski III in 1990; his sisters; and parents. Memorials for the American Heart Association / American Stoke Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674, will be appreciated by the family.
