John C. Carl, Jr., 61, of Spring Grove, passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 17, 1957 in Chicago to the late John and Patricia (nee Ruane) Carl. On July 30, 1981 in Chicago, John married the love of his life, Donna M. Malik. John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa (Brandon) De Vries; granddaughter, Abigail Hermes; sister, Susan J. Carl; sister-in-law, Linda (Joel) Ragland, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 1-4 pm at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. A memorial service will take place at 4 pm following the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be private. At the families request, if you are attending the services, please feel free to wear your favorite Cubs attire in honor of John being an avid Cubs fan, "Go Cubs."
