Visitation for Joan D. Kunkle, 79, of Fox Lake will be Saturday, January 15, 2011, 1 PM until the 3 PM memorial service at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.

Born February 16, 1931 in New Kensington , PA , she passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington .

She enjoyed reading, sewing, spending time outdoors and especially being with her family including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also served as a nurse on the staff of Bel Air Nursing Home.

She is survived by her husband Robert Kunkle whom she married on August 5, 1951 in New Kensington, PA, her sons Gary (Allene) Kunkle, Terry (Jill) Kunkle, Rob (Shirley) Kunkle, daughters Kim (Chris) McLaughlin, Lisa (Denny) Beatty, 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Imm) Malone.
