Jason "Jay" Milem, 47, of Lake Villa, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville.  He was born March 14, 1974, in Berwyn, to Gary and Delores (nee Morales) Milem.

Jay grew up on Long Lake where he enjoyed water sports—especially knee boarding and waterskiing.  He was a 1992 graduate of Grant Community High School, who went on to become a carpenter.  Jay worked on construction projects, which required him to travel to many locations, including many projects in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Jay is survived by his wife of 19 years, Laura (nee Griswold); children, Jacob (Jasmine) and Alyssa Milem; parents, Gary and Delores Milem; siblings, Nicole (boyfriend, Brad ) and Justin Milem; mother-in-law, Tamara (the late Gregory) Griswold; brothers-in-law, Trevor, David (Wendi), and Christopher Griswold; nieces and nephews, Diego, Sophia, Austin, and Savannah Milem and Michael, Elizabeth, Erin, Ariel, and Alexander Griswold; and by many, many wonderful friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Juan and Ophelia Morales and Joey and Vern Milem.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, February 26, from 3 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 7 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.  Interment will be private.
