Janice Joy Bockhaus (nee Anderson), 81, of McHenry, peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by family, Friday, April 26, 2024.  She was born October 24, 1942, in Rhinelander, WI, to the late John and Marsha (nee Adams) Anderson.

Janice worked as a nanny for wonderful families, as a lunch/recess aide at Chauncey H. Duker School, McHenry, and as a door greeter at Meijer, McHenry.  She enjoyed her work—always talking, joking, and visiting with the kids and customers.

Survivors include her children, John II, Lisa, Timothy, and Patrick Bockhaus.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, John Bockhaus, in 2004; and siblings, Patty (John) Freeborn, Jack (Audrey) Anderson, and Simon (Nancy) Anderson.

Memorial Mass Monday, May 6, 10 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2302 W. Church St., Johnsburg.  Inurnment will follow in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery Columbarium.
