James H. Taylor
James H. Taylor, former resident of Ingleside, IL, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2014 surrounded by his children. He was born on December 28, 1928 in Yuma, AZ to Jason and Lila (nee Hanson) Taylor. He spent most of his childhood and early adulthood in Montana. It was there that he met Hazel Bennett; they married on July 18, 1964.
Prior to his marriage, he graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He then served active duty in the Signal Corp of the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He began his engineering career with the Montana Highway Dept. followed by many years working in the railroad industry. He was previously an active supporter of the Lakeland Cardinals Football Team and the Grant Township Little League. Jim had a passion for American history, especially the history of his beloved Montana. He was a member of the Tripoli Shriners.
Jim is survived by his children Victoria (Tom) Happe and James (Nancy) Taylor; his siblings, Lois Jackson and Keith (Judy) Kibbe; his grandchildren, Daniel and Tyler Sieber and Ava Taylor; his brothers-in-law, Ken (Betty) Bennett and Gordon (Bev) Bennett; his sister-in-law Helen White; his dear friend, Marilyn Martinsen; his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and by his faithful canine companion, Maya.
He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Hazel, his parents, his step-father Raymond, and his brother John.
Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, June 27 from 4 until the 7:30 PM memorial service at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Interment private.
We would especially like to thank the caregivers and other staff members at Clare Bridge, in Sun Prairie for taking such wonderful care of Dad in his final year.
