Irene Ann Horan, a resident of Ingleside since 1982, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2012. She was born on January 19, 1924 in Chicago to Bruno and Anna (nee Liss) Swiatecki.
She enjoyed doing craftwork and loved animals, especially dogs and cats.
Irene will be deeply missed by her loving husband, John J. Horan, to whom she was united in marriage on April 25, 1981; her siblings Raymond and Elsie Swiatecki; her niece and nephews Robert (Rose) Swiatecki, Susan (Michael, Sr.) Pitt and Scott (Angie) Blackburn; her great-nieces and nephews Amy Swiatecki McCabe, Christian (Courtney) Pitt, Kimberly (Eric) Best and Michael Pitt, Jr.; and by her brother-in-law Gene Blackburn.
Other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Edmund and sister Sylvia Blackburn.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, from 4 PM until 8 PM and resume on Saturday, from 8:30 AM until the time of the 10 AM service at the K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Interment will be at Grant Cemetery, Ingleside.
