Harland F. Roettiger, a longtime resident of Spring Grove IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 2, 2013. He was born on June 19, 1922 in Platteville, Wisconsin to John and Cora "Floyd" (nee Adkison) Roettiger. He was a veteran in WW II having served with the U.S. Army 1st Armored Division. On May 21, 1949 he was united in marriage to E. Audrey Carlson at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Long Lake.
He was employed in construction for Tonyan Construction in McHenry as well as Ziegler Plumbing in Ingleside before his retirement. Harland was a charter member of the All Saints Lutheran Church and enjoyed Archery-golf as well as golf.
Harland will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, E. Audrey Roettiger (nee Carlson); his daughters Sandra (Charles) Beaudette of TX, Marsha (Gary Goracio) Williams of Lake Villa; his grandchildren, Michele (Jason) Derrick of TX, Brian (Amy) Beaudette of TX, Leslie (Robbie) Ingersoll of Harvard, and Michael Williams of Lake Villa; his great-grandchildren, Cerena, Zyler, Alexis, Daci and Nathaniel; his brother Douglas (Nancy) Roettiger of WI; as well as other dear relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Renee Lynn Roettiger, his siblings, Elenor Wilke, and Elton Roettiger; and by his parents.
Memorial visitation will be held Sunday April 7, from 2 p.m. until the memorial service at 5:30 p.m. at the K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd. Fox Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Harland's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN. 38105-1942 would be appreciated.
