Gloria J. O'Connor (nee Ziekert), 72, a longtime resident of Fox Lake, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010. She was born August 13, 1938 to William and Sophie (nee Naleway) Ziekert.
Gloria enjoyed cooking and baking. She retired after 20+ years of service with Gavin School District, where she began her career driving the school bus and later became a teacher's assistant for special education.
Gloria will be deeply missed by her only child Christine (Michael) Valenziano of Ingleside; her grandchildren Michael Valenziano; Steven Valenziano; Austin Taylor Welsch, all of Ingleside; and by her brother William Ziekert of Indiana.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, John "Jack" O'Connor, and by her dear friend Robert Chmura.
Services will be held at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road in Fox Lake, on Tuesday September 7 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a service at 7:00 with Deacon Larry Spohr officiating.
