Gloria Jean Garfield (nee Resketo), 78, of Fox Lake, unexpectedly passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026, at home. She was born October 3, 1947, in Chicago, to the late Michael and Huldah (nee Goodman) Resketo.

She loved her Chicago sports teams—especially the Bears and Cubs. She is now back with her husband, for whom she loved very much.

Gloria is survived by her sister, Barb Antunez; and step-daughter, Lindsay Garfield. She was preceded in death by husband, Richard Garfield; her parents; step-daughter, Lacey Chernikovich; her dog, Miss Kitty; and many cats throughout the years which were her children.

Services will be private.

Gloria gave monetary donations to several animal rescues. If you wish to honor her, please donate to your favorite, local animal rescue in Gloria’s name.
