Glen, a resident of Ingleside, IL, went to be with his Lord, on Sunday, August 29, 2010 from heart failure at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry, IL. He was born on October 3, 1969 in Waukegan, IL. He was the son of the late John and Diane Jewell.

Over a span of 19 years, Glen was a police officer with Round Lake Beach, Round Lake and Great Lakes Naval Base Department of Defense. In the most recent years, he enjoyed renovating as well as buying and selling homes with Harrison Rose Property Management. He enjoyed time with family most of all his wife, Leah of 6+ years, and his son, Zachary (5). Many years were invested in coaching baseball for teens and college age students. Along with his family, Glen attended The Chapel of Grayslake for the past five years. Glen would have wanted to be remembered most as someone who had a deep love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and a deep love for his parents, wife and son. He enjoyed singing along to his favorite Christian gospel and country music and had a giving spirit and genuine love for others.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Leah (Krzak) Jewell; their son Zachary Jewell; his siblings Alan (Lori) Jewell, Bryan (Beth) Jewell and Aaron (Jody) Jewell; grandparents Lyle and Joyce Beardsely; along with many dear extended relatives and close friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 4, 2010 from 3 to 6 pm service will begin 6 pm at K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road, Fox Lake, IL 60020. In lieu of flowers, Leah requests that monetary gifts be addressed to their son, Zachary Jewell, in memory of his father.
