George Joseph Knotek, 96, of Ingleside, at rest Tuesday, December 7, 2021. George was an honorably discharged Marine who served in and was a veteran of World War II. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (nee Ludwig); beloved second father to Richard (the late Gail) Bernard; loving papa to Lisa (Mark) Lauffer and their son Brayden; son of the late Louis and Anna; brother of the late Joseph (June) and Rose (Michael) Zlatos; dear uncle to Michele (Roger) Bancroft and the late Rosemarie (Louis) Kusnierz and Barbara Knotek; great-uncle to David (Heather) Bancroft and their children RJ and Rian, Adam (Wendi) Bancroft and their children Erin, Ashley, Emily, and Claire, and Matthew Bancroft; further survived by many other loving extended family members and friends. Visitation Saturday, December 11, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Burial to follow in Grant Cemetery, Ingleside. In lieu of flowers, memorials in George's name to the disabled veteran's organization of your choice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , appreciated.
