George Owen Clinton, 71, of Spring Grove, was born August 4, 1944, in Chicago and passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015.  He attended St. Angela Grammar and St. Ignatius High Schools.  A veteran, George served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War as a radioman aboard the USS Walker DDE517 out of Pearl Harbor.  George is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Catherine Ann (nee Mullahey) Clinton.  Survivors include his wife, Mary (nee Lehman); son, Charles Clinton; brother, Joseph (Connie) Clinton of Des Moines, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.  A gathering and Irish wake celebrating George's life will be held at the Clinton home, Saturday, October 17, beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Navy honors at 12:30 p.m.  To honor George's wish, a party will follow.
