Frank Gene Gimpert

Frank Gene Gimpert, 94, of Troy, Illinois died on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Journey care Hospice facility in Barrington, Illinois. He was born in  Hamtramck, Michigan to Marion and Mary Gimpert and was the oldest of five children. Frank was a renaissance man with technical, sporting and artistic talents. He worked for the Michigan Consolidated Gas Company as a field service engineer until his retirement in 1982. Frank enjoyed swimming, ice skating and was an avid golfer. His wood sculptures and furniture have been featured in galleries both in Detroit, MI and Phoenix, AZ.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy, of 72 years, his brother, John, sister, Carolyn, sons Kenneth and Dennis, six grandchildren and four great grand children. A family memorial will be held celebrating his life in his home town of Detroit, Michigan.
