Frances Mary Salvato, a resident of Spring Grove, formerly of Lyons, IL, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2012. She was born on October 6, 1919 in Chicago to Sam and Sarah (nee Nafioli) Militello.
She enjoyed playing cards and traveling with her granddaughter as well as doing bead work, cross stitching and crocheting.
Frances will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Dominic Salvato, with whom she was united in marriage on July 24, 1943; her children, Anthony (Sue) Salvato of Spring Grove and Sharon (the late Loni Hatfield) Nelson of Arizona; her grandchildren, Gina (Steve) Salberg, Matthew (Verenice) and Tony (Jennifer) Nelson, Angie (Drew) Yaktus, Lauren (Brian) Splitt and Tom (Lauren) Holland; her great- grandchildren, Brianna Balsavich, Sophie Splitt, Ashley Salberg, Justin Splitt, Olivia Yaktus and Camilla Nelson; her siblings, Al, George and Joe Militello and Ann Bensfield and by her former daughter-in-law Patsy Salvato.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 4, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 12 noon funeral service at the K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd. Fox Lake. Interment will be private.
