Forrest J. Billings, age 65
A resident of Fox Lake for many years died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Vista East Hospital in Waukegan, IL.
He was born in Oak Park, IL on April 6, 1944 to Jerome and Lorraine M. (nee Stokosinski) Billings. He attended and graduated from Grant Community High School with the class of 1962. He later attended MIT and graduated from Chicago Technical College.
Forrest served in US Navy as a Signal Man in the European Theatre from 1962-1965. In addition he served out of Quonset Point, Rhode Island aboard the aircraft carrier the USS Essex. He continued on active reserve until 1968. He and his wife of thirty-seven years: Virginia (nee Radke) sailed about the world for over twenty years on their sailboat, the "Longtime". Besides sailing, he enjoyed stamp and model train collecting and fishing.
He was a salesman for the Fox Lake Harbor Marina for over ten years.

He will be dearly missed by his wife: Virginia nee Radke of Spring Grove;
His mother: Lorraine Billings of Fox Lake;
His sister: Shannon (Michael) Grams of Volo;
By his nieces and nephews: Desiree, Danielle and Christian and by nine others.
Other relatives also survive.
His beloved cats: "Lily", "Pearl" and "Rufus"
He was preceded in death by his father: Jerome "Harry" Billings in 2003.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend Memorial Services, Saturday, May 16, 2009 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd, Fox Lake where Services will begin at 2:30 PM.
