Evelyn Florence Janus, a longtime resident of Wauconda, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2013. She was born on December 14, 1924 in Chicago, IL to Paul and Florence (nee Mossey) Raskow.

Evelyn loved to spend her time watching Westerns, particularly ones starring John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. She was an avid reader who also loved crocheting, baking, and sweets, especially chocolate. She will be remembered most for the love she had for her family.

Evelyn will be deeply missed by her dear children, Susan (Michael) Thompson, Thomas (Kathleen) Janus, Kathleen Janus, Lori (David) Bolton, and Ronald (Audrey) Janus; her grandchildren, Melanie (David), Amy (Chris), Karie, Tom, Tamara (Justin), Brian, Brooke, Eric (Magan), and Lindsey (Mike); and her sister Shirley Peck. and many other dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, and her sister Dolores Gumler.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. The visitation will resume on Wednesday, from 8:30 until 10:00 a.m. prayers at the K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd. Fox Lake, where we will proceed to Transfiguration Parish, 316 West Mill Street, Wauconda, IL 60084. Interment will be held at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
