Borowczyk
May 29, 1920 – December 22, 2014
Estelle Borowczyk
Estelle Borowczyk (nee Tanana), our most giving and loving mother, entered the presence of the Lord peacefully on December 22, 2014.
She was born on May 29, 1920 in Chicago to Catherine and Cyprian Tanana. Estelle was one of five children, Jean (Leonard) Firlick, Ben (Carmen) Tanana, Emil (Mona) Tanana and Helen (Jim) Froula. She was a 1938 graduate of Morton High School in Cicero, Illinois.
On September 9, 1940, she married the love of her life, Florian M. Borowczyk. They were married for 65 years, residing in Cicero, Illinois. After Florian's death in 2004, Estelle moved to Fox Lake, IL.
She poured her spirit, generous interest in others and limitless love into family, friends and the community. Estelle was involved in many volunteer positions through her children's school and activities. She was first and foremost a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a friend to everyone she knew. She loved working crossword puzzles, cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, bowling, solving the questions on Jeopardy and was an avid Cub fan.
Estelle leaves behind three children, Pat (Carl) Trimble, Judie Prasil, and Bob (Cheryl) Bowers. Cherished by her grandchildren, Michael Trimble, Tom (Sabrina) Prasil, Karyn (Vince) Bendinelli, Robby (Bobbie Jo) Trimble, Susan, Steven and Matthew Bowers. Great grandchildren, Jacob & Gavin Trimble, Gianna, Gabriella and Colton Bendinelli. Sisters-in-law, Mona and Carmen Tanana. Brothers-in-law, Jim Froula and Edward Borowczyk.
Estelle was a great lady and will be missed by those lives she touched. "It's time to go see Dad now. He's waiting for you with open arms. We will all miss you so much, but Dad needs you now."
She was preceded in death by her husband Florian, parents, sisters, and brothers.
Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 29, from 11 until 12 noon. Funeral mass following at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside. Private interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Bede School would be appreciated.
