Ernestine "Ernie" Mary Walsh, of Fox Lake, formerly of Park Ridge for 60 years, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2011. She was born in Potosi, Wisconsin to Albert and Leona (nee Ulbrich) Meoska.

Ernie was a Navy Veteran who served as a nurse during WWII. She worked at Resurrection Medical Center as a Nurse Manager and was then was involved with the Women's Auxiliary at Resurrection Medical Center, and also volunteered and started a crafts program there. She was also involved with St. Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 64 years, Thomas James Walsh, Jr., to whom she was united in marriage on April 10, 1947 in Bloomington, WI; by her sons, James (Elaine), Tom (Kathleen) and Richard Walsh; by her grandchildren Sean, Rachel, Heather, Elizabeth, Tom, Jr. and Michael Walsh and by her brother Joseph "Joe" (Hazel) Meoska.

Ernie was preceded in death by her parents and her son, the late Robert "Bobby" Walsh on July 6, 1985.

Visitation will be held on, Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 4 to 8 PM and resume on Thurs., from 8:30 AM until the 10 AM funeral service at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.
Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
