Erich Scharlow, 55, a longtime resident of Fox Lake, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at his home.

He was born April 12, 1962, in Chicago, to the late Allen and Lorraine (nee Hintz) Scharlow.  A graduate of Grant Community High School, Erich went on to honorably serve his country in the Army, in the 101st Airborne, during the Gulf War.

Survivors include his wife, Kelly Bettis O'Keefe Scharlow; daughters, Jen Scharlow of Wyoming, Krystal (Aaron) Crandall of Minnesota, and Savanah (Joe) Thorson of Minnesota; grandchildren, Carson and Austin Crandall; sister, Nancy Larson of Maryland; and many friends.

Erich's brother, Charles Scharlow of Lakemoor, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

The memorial visitation will be Saturday, June 24, from 11 a.m. until the celebration of Erich's life at 12 p.m., at the American Legion Post 703 Hall, 703 US Highway 12, Fox Lake.  A reception will follow the services at the Hall.
