Elroy Michael Geger, 70, of Ingleside, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Holy Family Medical Center, Des Plaines.  He was born October 16, 1955, in Chicago, to the late Elroy A. and Angeline "Angie" (nee Basowski) Geger.

Elroy was a 1974 graduate of Grant Community High School where he excelled in sports—especially football.  He went on to have a 46-year career as a plumber with UA Local 130.

Elroy was active in the community—especially the Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department Social Club, where he was both a longtime and former board member. He enjoyed travelling with his wife, Ruth.  Above all, he loved his family—especially his children.

Survivors include his wife of almost 30 years, Ruth (nee Ochoa); children, Elicia Geger and Austin Geger; granddaughter, Nadia Rangel; step-grandsons, Robert Dush and Hunter Garcia; sister, Joyce (Clarence) Frounfelker; nephew and niece, Brian (Carol Leung) Frounfelker and Tracy (Jerry) Henkel; and many other extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Elroy was preceded in death by step-daughter, Erica Garcia.

Visitation will be Friday, November 14, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at Joyful Spirit/Ingleside United Methodist Church, 36325 N. Maple Ave., Ingleside.  A reception will follow at the Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department Social Club, 114 Washington St., Ingleside.  Interment will be private.
