Elmer F. Pemble, 55, more popularly known as Mo, Houdini, Elmo, Elmie, Remle, E, Unc, and Plasma passed away at home surrounded by his family on April 16, 2010.

Elmer was a lifelong resident of Fox Lake. He was well known for his talents in baseball and basketball at Shady Lane and Grant Community High School. In his adult life, he enjoyed dancing, fishing, boating, golf, darts, baseball, and basketball. He was always willing to help a friend or go out and hoist a few beers. Elmer loved living on the Chain O' Lakes. This love made him become a custom pier builder with Denny's Piers of Spring Grove and a boat repair specialist with his family business, Boat Doc's of Fox Lake. He will be sadly missed by his children, Nicole (Tim) Nix of Alabama & Ryan Pemble of Florida; his grandchildren Taylor, Bryleigh & Amber; his siblings Grant (Pam) Pemble of Round Lake, Russell (Karen) Pemble of Woodstock, Howard Pemble of Lake Villa & Pat Thompson of Fox Lake; his parents Jean (Pemble) Kratunis (nee Schultz) of Fox Lake & Howard Pemble of Round Lake and many nieces nephews, and a town full of close friends.

He was preceded in death by his son Elmer Pemble JR; brother Richard Pemble, step-father Al Kratunis & brother-in-law Leon Thompson.

Elmer touched many lives in his own special way and will be dearly missed. The good Lord needed the ark fixed and took Elmer away from us too early.

Visitation will be Tuesday April 20th, 2010 from 4-9 pm with services by Pastor Wayne Christensen at 7:00 pm at K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd. Fox Lake, IL 60020. Internment will be private.
