Ellen Bywell

Ellen Bywell, (nee Danielson) beloved wife of the late Dr. Arthur Bywell, was born February 17, 1921 and died July 6, 2014.

Ellen is survived by her daughters, Jean (James) FitzSimons, Linda Bywell and Robin Pedersen; her grandchildren, Melissa (Ryan) Baysinger, Jonathan FitzSimons and Eric (Amy)  Pedersen; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Kristen Baysinger and Evelyn Pedersen; her sister, Ingrid (Arthur) Weibe; her sister-in-law, Audrey Bywell and by her nieces and nephews.

Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 2 sisters-in-law, 4 brothers-in-law, 2 nieces, 2 nephews and her parents.

Ellen was a charter member of the Lutheran Church of All Saints in Fox Lake, a life time member and past president of Fox Lake American Legion Auxiliary and secretary of the Legion Auxiliary for 24 years, a lifetime charter member of the Women of the Moose since 1960 where she earned the highest honor of College of Regents in 1967. Ellen was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and worked with the 4H Lindenhurst Daisies for 10 years. She also served as a Lake County Election Judge for 26 years.

Ellen lived a full life; she never learned how to drive, but earned "a back seat driver" license. Ellen believed in the old saying, "Always leave them laughing."

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10 from 4 until 8 PM and resume on Friday from 10 until the 11 AM funeral service at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Interment will be private.
