Elaine Beegle Tredinnick, 87, of Ingleside, Illinois passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Avantara Libertyville after an extended illness.
Elaine was born May 17, 1938 in New Jersey, the daughter of Hilda E . Mershon Beegle and Harold L. Beegle.
Elaine graduated from Hillside High School in 1956. She went on to complete the professional executive secretarial program in 1957 at Berkeley College in New Jersey, which led to her position as a service representative for several years for New Jersey Bell Telephone Company.
A lover of learning, Elaine pursued higher education at Columbia University New York and Rutgers University in New Jersey while working for the Commission on Ecumenical Mission and Relations of the United Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. in New York.
Elaine married Thomas G. Tredinnick September 30, 1967, at the Old First Presbyterian Church in Newark, New Jersey.
After moving to Illinois in 1978 Elaine continued her pursuit of higher education at Carthage Collage in Kenosha, Wisconsin where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in 1999.
Elaine was naturally curious and constantly investigated her topics of interest, which served her well for nearly 25 years with her role in the research section at the College of Lake County Library. Genealogy, history, and the origins of language were of particular interest and led to many lively conversations around the dining table.
Elaine expressed her creative nature through textile arts. She loved knitting, sewing, and spinning wool. She was always up for a challenge and enjoyed trying new things, especially in the kitchen. She freely and willingly shared her fount of knowledge and wisdom to mentor others in troubleshooting challenges with their projects.
Elaine was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Liberty Fremont Chamber Singers and the Ansel Brainerd Cook Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Libertyville.
Remaining to cherish Elaine's memory are her loving husband Tom Tredinnick of Grayslake, her son and daughter-in-law Andrew Tredinnick and Katrina Laflin of Indianapolis and her daughter Victoria Tredinnick of New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 1, 2025 at 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25519 West Illinois Route 134, Ingleside, IL 60041 with a funeral service following immediately after. Interment will be in East Hanover, New Jersey Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations in Elaine's memory may be directed to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ingleside, Illinois.
