Elaine J. MacDonald, 88, of Ingleside, died Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Lake Forest Hospital.

Born April 4, 1930, in Milwaukee to the late Walter and Thelma Lyon, she married the late Louis S. MacDonald, Jr. on December 4, 1948, in Waukegan.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Elaine was a longtime and active member of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of All Saints in Fox Lake, who worked for over 15 years at Altmans' Flower Emporium in Round Lake.  Most of all, she enjoyed baking (known for her apple pies and kolaczki) and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Janet (Curtis) Kvaas of Spring Grove, Lois (Glenn) Lyons of Charleston, Louis W. (Marjorie Swanson) MacDonald of Kenosha, and Kathleen Grogan of Ingleside; grandchildren, Kimberly (Thomas) Cooley, Inger (Jake) Freund, Aaron (Lauren) and Craig (Michelle Sibenaller) Lyons, Darrick (Maggie) and Desiree MacDonald, Amy (fiancé Jake Wincapaw) and Timothy Grogan; and great-grandchildren, Deegan and Delanee Cooley, Hayden, Landon, and Zoe Freund, Elliana Lyons, Morgen, Charlie, Maxine, Preslie Anne, and Dalton MacDonald, Crystal Lawrence, and Rylie Grogan.

In addition to her husband and parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her sister, Belva Mae (Gordy) Fay.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Thursday, November 1, at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremation, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.  There will also be visitation Friday, November 2, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at The Evangelical Lutheran Church of All Saints, 5800 State Park Rd., Fox Lake.  Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.  A luncheon will follow.
