Eduardo Gonzalez's Obituary

Eduardo Gonzalez, 68, of Fox Lake, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, at City of Hope Center, Zion, IL.  He was born December 31, 1956, in Oak Park, to the late Juventino and Gloria (nee Chavana) Gonzalez.


Eduardo grew up in the Nottingham Park neighborhood of Chicago, and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Loyola University, Chicago.  Eduardo had a 30-year career at Abbott Laboratories, where he was a senior scientist.


In his free time, Eduardo enjoyed downhill skiing, traveling, boating, collecting antiques, fishing, being poolside in the sun, attending concerts, and gatherings of family and friends.


Survivors include his siblings, Ely Gonzalez, Esther (Mike) Mullan, Ernesto (Elizabeth) Gonzalez, and Edmundo Gonzalez; nieces and nephews, Steve (Keri) Contreras, Vanessa (Frank) Montejano, and Melissa Gonzalez, Miranda and Ava Gonzalez, Rebecca (Luke) McKee, Christina Gonzalez, and Edmundo Gonzalez II, and Michael Jr., Joseph, Anthony, and Robert Mullan—all of whom Eduardo was very proud of; great-nieces and nephews, Angelica, Rick, Aylla, Elliott, and Owen; and many extended family members and great friends.


In addition to his parents, Eduardo was preceded in death by niece, Melissa Gonzalez.


A celebration of Eduardo's life will be announced for a future date.  Private interment will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Justice.


Eduardo's siblings would like to thank his family and friends for your prayers and support.
