Douglas Brian Pearson, 66, passed away Monday October 4th, 2021 at home surrounded by family. He remained strong for two and a half years against Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) brain cancer.

Survived by his life partner Michele Marie Martineau of 18 years, his daughters Capri and Chantal Pearson, his sister Chris Kristine, his brother Ken Pearson, his brother-in-law Alex Kristine, his stepchildren Jessica Konkol and John Lila, his former spouse Diana Pearson and the entire Martineau family.

Doug was raised in Wilmot, Wisconsin by his late parents Claire Bielak Pearson and George Pearson. After high school, he moved to Utah to pursue his passion for downhill skiing fostered at Wilmot Mountain. He spent his winters throughout his 20's on ski patrol at Snowbasin and summers back in Wisconsin, rebuilding a 33ft Ranger sailboat "Airborne". After living aboard and sailing Airborne down the Mississippi for almost a year in 1987 with Diana, they moved to Kenosha to raise their daughters. Doug instilled a love of camping and travel in his daughters on their family summer road trips to National Parks across the US. Doug once again felt compelled by the "changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes" and moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama in 2003 where he fell in love with Michele. Doug treasured his years at the gulf with Michele, boating, beaching and building their life together.  Music was instrumental in Doug's life, teaching himself to play guitar at age 20 and continuing to perform with his band "4 Now" in Kenosha and later with Michele as "Hot Sand 2.0" on the Gulf Coast. Doug's carpentry skills through his companies Lakeshore Carpentry and Blue Wave Carpentry and Design can be admired across multiple states and with his beautiful homes in both Kenosha and Gulf Shores. Doug's great storytelling, sense of humor and compassionate personality will be missed most of all by the friends he made everywhere he lived.

A Celebration of Doug's life will be this Saturday October 9th, 2021 at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., in Fox Lake, Illinois with a visitation from 12-4 p.m., celebration of life service at 4 p.m., with a lakeside sunset toast in his honor to follow.
