Dorothy E. Otte's Obituary

Dorothy E. Otte, a resident of Fox Lake, has passed away on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011. She was born on May 4th, 1920 in Geneseo, New York to Leo and Ruth (nee Colegrove) Faulds.


Dorothy was employed at the Kodak Company in Rochester, New York before joining the Army/Air Corps in the WWII conflict and then worked for Eagle Foods until her retirement. She was the former commander and adjutant of the American Legion, Post 703 in Fox Lake, as well as a Chamber of Commerce director for 3 years and former president of the Antioch Senior Center.


In 1944 she married Reese R. Magness and had 3 children, Dale (Rose), Dave (Darlene) and Shirley (Wayne) Neman. In 1975 she married Clarence Otte and had a wonderful adoptive family of 8 children, Marilyn (Mel) Willie, Wayne (Barb), Donna, Eugene, Bob (Joan), Mike (Penny), Pat (Larry) Van Acker and Chris (Ken) Lang. She had 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren which she enjoyed completely.
She touched many lives and will be greatly missed.


Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, February 11, from 3 p.m. until the 6 p.m. service at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd.(1 block West of Rte. 12, 1/2 block North of Grand Ave.), Fox Lake. Interment private.
A Blue Hat Memorial Service will be at 7 PM at the American Legion, Post 703, 703 N. U.S. Hwy 12, Fox Lake, IL following the service at the funeral home.


In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Legion, Post 703 would be appreciated.
