Dorothy Ruth Hoehne, (nee: McClain), born December 14, 1926 to the late Lewis D. McClain and Doris (nee: Anderson) McClain in Libertyville, Illinois.
She was the loving mother of Richard (Carole Jo) Hoehne, Nancy (Jimmy) Rogers, Ronald (Rose) Hoehne and Lawrence (the late Veronica) Hoehne. Dorothy was the cherished grandmother of Richard E. (fianc'ee Valerie Klepek) Hoehne, Kristena (Beckett) Kirk, Michael (Kaitlynn) Hoehne, Dori (Tony) Hernandez, Veronica (Matt) Lukemeyer, Joanna Hoehne, Daniel (Lauren) Hoehne, Steven Hoehne, Emily (Vito) Anzalone, Renee Mraz, 14 great grandchildren and 2 on the way. She was the fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Survived by brother David (Mickie) McClain and cousin Mary McClain-Alverado. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Ross and Ronald McClain, sisters: June Easky, Jean Brosky and Jane Miholic, and grandsons: Donald and Zachery Rogers. Dorothy graduated from Libertyville Township High School in 1944, where she was in Libertyville High School Orchestra playing the violin. She really enjoyed music. She worked for the North Shore Railroad, Family Sand and Gravel Business, Lebaron Steel Company and retired as a bookkeeper at Gavin Grade School. Dorothy to say the least was very involved in her community. She was a member of Libertyville Village Players, Joyful Spirit Ingleside Methodist Church and Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxilary. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Past President of the Grant Township Women's Republican Club and Past President of Gavin School Board. Dorothy was a 70+ year Lifetime member of the Libertyville American Legion. She was a volunteer at The Village of Victory Lakes. She truly loved being a member of Sweet Adelines-Northern Illinois Chapter with good friend, Rose Loffredo. Dorothy loved to travel, read and most important to her was being with her family.
