Diane Lynn Baran, a longtime resident of the Fox Lake area, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2013. She was born on January 20, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to George and Helen (nee Zombeck) Fiala.
Diane will forever be remembered as a woman that was passionate about caring for others. She was a registered nurse that touched many lives throughout her 40+ years of dedicated service. She was also an active parishioner of St. Bede Church, a community that connected her to the volunteer work at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, where she often spent her time preparing hot meals or organizing boxes of non-perishables from the food-pantry for those less fortunate. In her personal time, Diane spent much of her energy into cheering for her beloved Chicago Cubs, while each game sitting beside her was her little pal, 'Mike' her pup.
Diane will be deeply missed by her loving children, David Baran of Vernon Hills and Laura (Brandon) Yost of Fox Lake; her grandchildren, Jakob, Timothy, Joshua and Ty Yost; by her siblings, Dennis (Karen) Fiala, Joni (Mike) Bohne, and by the cherished, extended, Sacchetti family .
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years 'Alexander', by her parents and by her very special "adopted granddaughter" Danielle Sacchetti.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 20, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd. Fox Lake. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m. at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd. Ingleside, IL 60041. All are invited to go directly to the church. Entombment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
