Dennis E. Frey, 88, of Ingleside for 48 years, peacefully passed away at home Saturday, March 20, 2021.  He was born March 18, 1933, in Highland, Illinois, to the late Edward and Mathilda (nee Luber) Frey.

Dennis had a long career with the Archdiocese of Chicago, having worked for 31 years at St. Alphonsus Liguori Church in Prospect Heights. Dennis also worked at Grant Community High School for eight years.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, member of the American Legion Post 703 in Fox Lake, and a member of Our Lady of the Lakes-St. Bede Church in Ingleside.

Dennis enjoyed birdwatching, woodworking, and above all spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary A. (nee Abeln); son, Shawn (Mary E.) Frey of Ingleside; grandchildren, Breanna Atlee of Ingleside, Tiffany (Matt) Weinreis of McHenry, and Travis (Sylvia) Frey of Ingleside; and great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Dylanei, Annabelle, Ian, Lily, Cameron, and Evelyn.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, March 26, at Our Lady of the Lakes-St. Bede Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside.  Inurnment, with military honors, will follow at the Warren Cemetery Columbarium, Gurnee.
