Denise Freund, 54, died Thursday, November 26, 2015. She was a friend to some, Karaoke partner to others and yet always the life of the party. She always made people laugh. Denise passed away peacefully after complications from flesh‐eating bacteria. She fought a good fight for 6 months before leaving this world to entertain those who have gone before us.   Denise was born to Mary and the late Benno Freund on July 18, 1961.

She graduated from Grant Community High School and worked for McDonalds for many years where she won the "Outstanding Store Manager" award several times, as well as receiving the "Ray Kroc" award.  Most recently, she was a support specialist for Apple products. This technology role was a new challenge for her, but as she did most things, she did it with a smile and a sense of humor. She loved trying to help customers solve their problems.

Denise is survived by her mother Mary; three sisters: Kathy Pierce (Don), Kim Laycock (Larry), Julie Serres (Steve); two brothers: Kevin Freund (Darby) and Jamie Freund. She also had many nieces and nephews including Jay, Ben, Becca, Dillon, Grace, Reese, Alex, Branden, Peri and Riley that she enjoyed hanging out with.

We will celebrate Denise's life on Friday, December 4th at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations (12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake, IL 60020) from 4pm – 8pm.  A funeral mass will take place on Saturday, December 5, at St. Bede Church (36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside, IL 60041) at 9:30am. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery (Fremont Center, IL).
