David Joseph Serafin Sr. of Fox Lake

David Joseph Serafin Sr., 65, formerly of Streamwood, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2011. He was born in Cornwall, England, on Dec. 31, 1945, to Joseph and Hilda (nee Calf) Serafin. David was a longtime boater, enjoyed golfing with the Earlybird Golfers at the Fox Lake Country Club, and especially enjoyed spending time with his cherished grandchildren. He served in the Air Force in Vietnam. David will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Kathy Serafin (nee Grozalis); his children, David Joseph (Amy) Serafin Jr. of Spring Grove and Jason (Michele) Serafin of Hancock, Mich.; and his dear grandchildren, Zachary, Elizabeth, Jaden, Dawson, Madison and Chloe. He will also be missed by many dear relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, George Serafin Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14, beginning at 12 noon until the 1 p.m. service at the K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, The Chapel on the Lake, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road (one block west of Route 12,
