Clarence "Mickey" Heffernan of Fox Lake for 45 years Services for Clarence "Mickey" Heffernan, 81, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, in his hometown of Ortonville, Minn., at Larson Funeral Home, with a visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in Mound Cemetery in Ortonville. Born Feb. 9, 1928, in Chicago, to Clarence and Marie (nee Westphal/Bakeberg) Heffernan, he passed away surrounded by his family Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. A World War II Marine Corps veteran, Mickey loved his family, enjoyed fishing, archery, camping, gatherings with family and friends, and was a Civil War and Native Indian history buff. He is survived by his dear wife, with whom he united in marriage June 11, 1948, in Webster, S.D.; his loving children, Wallace "Skip" Heffernan, Susan (Keith) Mielke, Frances (Jerome) Preston and Cathy (Al) Buck; 11 dear grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Alice (Orv) Oswood. Memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements were made by the K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, Fox Lake.
