Charles "Charlie" Wiltberger's Obituary

Charles "Charlie" Wiltberger, 82 years old of Las Vegas, NV and formerly of Fox
Lake, IL, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024 at home surrounded by
family. He was born on February 4, 1941 to the late Dale and Flores Wiltberger.
Charlie very proudly served in the Air Force, stationed in Tripoli. After the service,
he worked for the Village of Round Lake where he met the love of his life, Karen
Watts. They married on February 14, 1964. Together they had 5 children and
were happily married until her death August 9, 2012.
He worked at Sara Lee and UPS before Karen and Charlie started their own
business, C Wiltberger Upholstery in the early 1970's. The business was sold in
1990 and they moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1991 where they continued doing
upholstery work until Charlie retired from The Rio as the head of the upholstery
department.
Charlie was very friendly and loved talking to people .He became instant friends
with everyone he met. He was selfless and would give whatever he had to
anyone who needed it, including risking his life to save a stranger from a burning
car.
Charlie volunteered as a youth football, baseball and softball coach. The only
thing he loved more than golf and visiting the casino was his family.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his in-laws,
George and Bilee Watts; his brothers Dale, John, Brian, Joel and infant brother
David. Brother-in-law, Jerry Watts; Sisters-in-law Erin (Dale) Wiltberger and Mary
(Duane) Wiltberger.
Survivors include his children, Margie (Jim) Walker, Charles "Marty" (Marie)
Wiltberger II, Melissa (Jeff) Moore, Susanne Wiltberger and Timothy (Elizabeth)
Wiltberger; his grandchildren Courtney (Eric) Weiss, Ashley (Brandon) Aguirre,
Brittany Moore, Kevin (Savannah) Wiltberger, Amanda (Landon) Reinhardt,Tyler,
Benjamin, Gregory, and Ryan Wiltberger, Colton and Caden Walker. His great
grandchildren Alixandria, Xavier, Eric, Mynroe, Autumn,Sofia, Elliana and
Georgia. Further survived by his brother Duane Wiltberger and sister Cheryl
(Doug) White; Sisters-in-law Mary Wiltberger, Linda Wiltberger and Judy
Wiltberger; several nieces, nephews, family and friends.


Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday March 23, 2024 from
10-11am and the celebration of life from 11-12:15 at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals
& Cremations 12 N Pistakee Lake Road, Fox Lake, IL. Interment will follow at
East Fox Lake Cemetery 24306 W Monaville Road, Lake Villa, IL with full military
honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's
Children Hospital.
