Betty L. Williams (nee Rider), 88, of Lake Bluff, IL, formerly a longtime resident of Grand Blanc, MI, peacefully passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, at The Sheridan of Green Oaks, Lake Bluff.  She was born August 30, 1936, in Ann Arbor, MI, to the late H. Kenneth and Ruby L. (nee Smith) Rider-Reynolds.

Betty was raised in Ann Arbor and graduated from the University of Michigan.  She married Jack Williams and moved to the Flint/Grand Blanc area where she lived until his death in 2008.  Betty was a huge fan of University of Michigan and Detroit sports teams.  She enjoyed quilting, reading, sewing, crafting, traveling, cruising, card games and bowling.  Most of all, she loved hosting family gatherings.

Survivors include her children, Laurie (Kenneth) Carr, Barbara (Christopher) Hohman, and Jon (Carol) Williams; grandchildren, Katelynn (Matt) Griffin, Taryn (David) Funk, Nick Carr, Tyler (Tori) Hohman, Robert Hohman, Jeffrey Williams, and David Williams; great-grandchildren, Grayson and Walker Griffin and Kairi and Joshua Funk; sisters-in-law, Lynn Gibbs and Kathy (Wally) Dotson; and cousin, Judy Schaffer.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; and siblings, Lucille Reynolds and Don Rider.

A committal service will be announced for a future date at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
