Bernice A. Cummings 92, a resident of Wauconda, formerly of Fox Lake and Chicago, passed away peacefully at Wauconda Health Care Center. Born on June 13, 1921 in Eagle River, WI to John and Kazimera (nee Judis) Sarkauskas.

Bernice was a very avid gardener and artist who painted beautiful oil paintings of landscapes. She enjoyed time spent with her family.

She is the beloved mother of Dennis Cummings and Kathleen (William) Lavelle of Long Lake; dear grandmother of Erin and Bridget Lavelle; loving sister of Ann Hanke.

Other dear relatives and friends also survive.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Edmund, Anthony, and Frank Sarkauskas.

A visitation will be held Monday, December 23, from 9:00 until the 10:00 am service at K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Interment will follow at East Fox Lake Cemetery in Lake Villa.
