Barbara "Barb" Bobek (nee Schmitt), 72, a resident of Ingleside for 31 years, peacefully passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, at JourneyCare, Barrington.  She was born July 11, 1950, in Chicago, to the late Nicholas "Nick" and Alice (nee Brewster).

Barb grew up in Rolling Meadows and moved to Ingleside in 1992.  She worked for Bantam Double Day Books for 17 years and, prior to retirement, was a school bus driver in Fox Lake for 10 years.  She enjoyed reading, spending time and working around her home, and being with her family.

Barb is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Bobek; children, Sandra (Brian Hahn) Schuster, Michael (Cynthia) Little, James Little, and Lisa Schuster; grandchildren, Nina Schuster, Jenelle, Jasmine, Jordan, Julia, Daniel, Devin, Darius, and Dryden Mateo, Michael, Anthony, and Cassandra Little, Allison Donnellon, Ramses Perez, and Ethan Hahn; siblings, Sandie (Tuna) Tenglin, Gerri Stamm, Nicholas Schmitt, and Johnny Schmitt; niece, Cassandra Bobek (and her children Kaleb Smith and Jace Wendt); brother-in-law, Ray Bobek; former son-in-law, Daniel Mateo; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by mother-in-law, Helen Bobek.

A memorial visitation will be Saturday, May 13, from 11 a.m. until the celebration of Barb's life at 2 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.  A reception will follow.
