Anna H.
Sexton
April 29, 1932 – May 12, 2017
Anna H. Sexton (nee Stabulonis), 85, recently of McHenry, and a former long-time resident of Fox Lake, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017, at Centegra Hospital, McHenry.
She was born April 29, 1932, in Chicago, to the late Alphonse and Valeria (nee Paukstis) Stabulonis.
Anna's number-one love in life was her family and close friends. Her strong Catholic faith kept her going through good times and bad. She loved making people smile with her baking treats, was an avid sports fan who never missed a Chicago White Sox, Blackhawks, or Bulls game. Coupon clipping for everyone was her favorite past time, when Anna wasn't trying to out maneuver everyone at Pinochle or any other game she was challenged with.
Survivors include her daughters, Martha (Wally) Schapals and Cynthia Hagstrom; grandchildren, Kimberly (Joe) Galarza, Jennifer (Andrew) Jurena, Christopher Hagstrom, Jonnie Lynn Ridout, Ann (Brian) Jump, and Duane (Jennifer) Schwabauer; and 11 great grandchildren. She was a beloved godmother, aunt, and friend to many.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, John Griskenas, Jr.; son, Johnny (Joy) Griskenas; son-in-law, William Hagstrom; and brother, Pete (Audrey) Stabulonis.
A memorial visitation will be Sunday, May 21, from 2 p.m. until the celebration of Anna's life at 4 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family, appreciated.
