Alfred "Al" Boyd's Obituary

Alfred "Al" Boyd Sr. 97

A longtime resident of Fox Lake, passed away at Centegra Hospital in McHenry with his Daughter Cindy by his side. Al was born in Chicago on August 20, 1915 to Edward and Felicia (nee Kowalski) Bogucinski . Al took flying lessons at a young age and enjoyed flying and was quite the hunter in his earlier years ... the stories he would tell. He owned and ran a grocery store in Chicago for many years. In 1962 he moved to Fox Lake with his wife and family. He was a caring landlord, owning apartments in Chicago, for many years as well as was an insurance agent working out of his home in Fox Lake. He served on the Board of Education at the Fox Lake and Shady Lane grade schools. In his later years he served on the Antioch Senior Center board as well as enjoyed many Friday afternoon games of pinnacle and was the comedian for many a doing at the center. He was a lifelong Cubs fan... despite their record! He loved spending time with family & friends, traveling, and playing cards... he enjoyed life as a whole. Most of all, Al's greatest joy in life was to give his family & friends the gift of laughter... Oh the jokes he could tell!
Al was preceded in death by his parents Edward & Felicia (Busia), his Stepfather Unkie, his Brother Edward, his wife of 38 years Janice, and his loving
Daughter Wendy Boyd.
He is survived by his loving Daughter Cindy (Bill) Seamon; his Son, Al, (Tracy Folgers) Boyd Jr.; grandchildren, Nick and Samie (whom he lived with for his last three years), Julie and Mike; Sister, Lynn (John) Setnor; his "Best Friend," Emil Sipolt and many, many caring friends.
Al will be missed greatly yet held in our hearts forever!
