Alexandria Marie Wagner's Obituary

Alexandria Marie Wagner, 80 years old of Ingleside, Illinois passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 surrounded by many of her loving and caring family members.   Known to family & friends as Sandra, Sandy and Sas, she was born on February 19, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Frank Joseph and Helen Bernice Wagner (nee Michalak).  Sandra grew up in Chicago attending St. Raphael grade school, graduated from St. Augustine High School and went on to proudly earn her Associate Degree from Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, IL.

Her loving children include Monica Susan Marr, Deanna Gentile; Melinda Madden and preceded in death by her devoted son Patrick Thomas Madden and former husband Thomas Woodward Madden.  She adored her son in laws, Brian Marr and especially Roy Gentile who was there for her at all times.

Her siblings that she loved dearly are Frances Moon, Bernadette Pavlik, Michael Wagner, Barbara Meistas, sister-in-law Janet Wagner (Frank) and preceded in death by brother Frank Wagner, Jr.

Sandra's greatest joys were her 11 grandchildren:  Craig (Angela), Sonny (Kiersten), Alexandria (Kraig), Michael (Elizabeth), Jared (Christine), Sarah (Kai), Elliott, Nicole (Eric), Richard, Sean, Samantha and her 20 special great-grandchildren:  Gianna, Giuliana, Greyson, Gage, Gannon, Annabelle, Kollins, Karson, Emmett, Charlotte, Evelyn, Elodie, Luka, Logan, Layla, Amelia, Sophie, Angelo, Carter and Mia.

Described as fun!, "feisty" and a "force of nature", Sandra has always been a creative person who enjoyed designing her arts along with decorating her homes and yards with eclectic art pieces.  She was also a long-time resident of Bridgeview, Illinois and was proud to be the Director of the Bridgeview Park District.  She was the creator and owner of Antique Alley in Ingleside, IL and Tugboats Restaurant in Madison, Indiana.

Her lakefront view on Fox Lake and her dog Peanut gave her the greatest peace.

Sandy cherished her many beloved cousins from the Wagner and Michalak families along with all of her nieces and nephews including her godchildren: Callen Scigalski, Terry DeMonica and Susan Lenart.  And she continued to be a part of the Madden Family and enjoy her sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Sandra was cremated at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations.

All are welcome to commemorate her life at a Memorial Mass to be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church (40000 North US Highway 45, Old Mill Creek, IL  -  just north of Antioch) at 10:30 am.
