Albert P. Masciola, 97, of Ingleside, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at his home.

He was born February 22, 1919, in Chicago, to the late Anselmo and Theresa (nee Tiritilli) Masciola.  Al married the late Betty A. DiChristofaro November 29, 1941, at Resurrection Church, Chicago.

Al loved sports--especially baseball, golf, boating, and snowmobiling.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda Amato of Skokie; grandchildren, Andra, Daniel (Stamo), and Michael (Feather) Amato; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Aidan, Christina, Vasili Amato; sister, Margaret Husar; brother-in-law, Charles "Joe" Heermans; sister-in-law, Audrey Masciola; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Betty, Al was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ronald Amato; siblings, Clarence (Eleanor) Masciola, Dora (Tracy) Vasquez, Anthony Masciola, Eleanor Heermans and Paul Masciola; and brother-in-law, Anthony Husar.

The visitation will be Friday, March 4, from 4:00-8:30 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.

A prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday March 5, at the funeral home with a procession to St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside, for the 11:00 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial.  Burial will follow in Grant Cemetery, Ingleside.
